Traditional ritualists led by Kaliisa Seruryange performed rituals calling upon all types of ancestral spirits to punish whoever tries to utter a word about Rubaga south mp, Kato Lubwama’s removal from the 10th Parliament.
The rituals were carried out at Ngandu village in Mukono central division.
While at the ceremony, traditionalists first sung praising songs for the spirits, calling them to rise from the dead to come and save their grandchild, Hon Lubwama.
The traditionalists came to intervene following a one Habib Buwembo dragging Lubwama to court accusing him of not qualifying to be a member of parliament due to his fake academic results.
The ritualists made sacrifices alleging that they will make petitioners blind if they insist on removing their follower from parliament.
Someone may be wondering why is it for Lubwama that these ritualists are coming out to save him? The answer is, Lubwama is one of the many people in Uganda who believe in ancestral spirits and he one time admitted that he has a shrine at his home.
Seruryange said, as traditionalists they will be carrying out a ritual sacrifice everyday which shall save Lubwama from being ejected from parliament.
“In the whole Parliament we have two representatives, that’s Kato and the Speaker (Rebecca Kadaga) so we cannot afford to lose any of them,” said Seruryange.
Lubwama is expected to court on 31 October, 2016 to face charges levelled against him.
