From kids’ shows through to a legendary concert, comedy, a fashion show, as well as get together, this weekend will surely not leave you looking for what to do for fun.
Legend Saba Saba Concert.Most concert goers are still nursing the after effects of Sheeba’s Omwoyo Concert last weekend. That should not stop them from attending the second mega concert of December – the Legend Saba Saba concert featuring Jose Chameleon. The show happens Friday, December 7 at Lugogo Cricket Oval. Entrance fee is set at Shs20,000 for ordinary sitting as well as Shs100,000 for VIP. The show will feature amazing performances from artistes such as Leilah Kayondo, Khalifa Aganaga, King Saha, B2C, Ykee Benda, Pallaso among others.
Abryanz Style and Fashion Award (Asfas).The biggest annual fashion awards are back at the Kampala Serena Hotel. The ASFAs are organised to recognise and award the outstanding personalities and brands in fashion and style industry. Come and be part of this amazing experience. Entrance to this red carpet event will be at Shs100,000.
Oldies Night- Guvnor:First Fridays of the month belong to Guvnor for the monthly Oldies Night. Get to dance to all-time greatest hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80, and 90s on two dance floors. Doors open by 9:00pm and entrance is only Shs50,000. For those not able to make it, it will be relayed live on Radio One.
Saturday December 8
Ladies Night out.Featuring Rema Namakula and Chosen Becky, Ladies Night Out is a ‘Comedy and Music event’. The two ladies will be accompanied by all comedians from Comedy Store such as Sebakijje. Theatre Labonita is the venue and Shs20,000 and Shs30,000 are the charges for ordinary and VIP respectively.
Gayaza Girls family fun day.All old girls, friends, in-laws, students, parents and well-wishers of Gayaza High School will converge at Lugogo Cricket Oval for the Gayaza family/funday. The aim of the event is to raise funds towards the completion of the school administration block but most importantly network. At 20k, one will get to enjoy the best outdoor games such as Kwepena, music (think Irene Ntale), dance, entertainment, food, snacks, and so on.
Gayaza High is the oldest girls’ school in the country.
Koroga Festival. Unique to Kenya, Koroga food festival will debut in Uganda on Saturday, December 8. Hosted by Mark Kaheru and My Food Network at The Gardens, Najjera, diners are expected to prepare food by themselves. Koroga means to stir in Swahili. A team of 10 will be given six kilograms of Chicken and six of either goats meat or pork/fish after paying Shs50,000 per head. The organisers will, in addition, provide participants with a case of cold Tusker Lite, boiled rice, chapati and French Bread on top of all ingredients needed.
This is an experience you shouldn’t miss.
Nsenene Pizza Festival.Here is a chance to eat pizza til you drop. The Pizza Festival will be held at Kyadondo Rugby Football Grounds on Sunday. It will feature all kinds of pizza from different pizza houses in town. The main attraction though is the Nsenene Pizza that will be launched then.
Toto Christmas Festival. The Christmas Kid Fest is back. Bring your little ones to Namboole Stadium for this full day of fun. Activities involved will include entertainment, games, face painting, talent shows and much more. Entrance will be at Shs10,000 for children and free for adults.
Bakiga Nation Edition Six.Do you want to know and learn about the Kikiga culture- history – language – dress code – food – marriage – story telling – music? Well, the sixth edition of the Bakiga Nation bi-annual get together party is on at the UMA Show Grounds. Tell a friend to tell a friend about the event this Sunday. Unlike the last event, one will be required to pay Shs10,000 and Shs5,000 for children. Each ticket will automatically be entered in a draw to win a fully paid holiday trip courtesy of Rwandair.
A kids play area has also been set up for the young ones.
