Officials from the Uganda Police force have said they failed to appear before the Parliamentary Accounts Committee(PAC) yesterday because they did not receive any official invitation.
The committee was scheduled to hear from the police force an explanation for the accumulation of over shs 10 billion debt as well as queries raised in the 2014-2015 auditor general’s report.
Police spokesperson, Andrew Felix Kaweesi says that they were not invited.
The committee chairperson,Angelina Osege says the police interface has now been scheduled to November 11,2016.
The vice chairperson of the committee, Gerald Karuhanga,
says Police is to be questioned about, among other thing, a
debt of Shs16 billion for utilities like water and electricity.
