The United States of America has listed Uganda among the unsafe countries to travel to following the increased crime rates.

The US Department of State-Bureau of Consular Affairs on 10 January, 2018 issued a travel advisory warning the American citizens against traveling to Uganda due to high levels of armed robbery, home invasion and sexual assault.

The department said the vices are  most common in larger cities such as Kampala and Entebbe.

It also attributed the violent crimes to local police’s failure to effectively respond to serious crime.

However, Uganda Tourism Board CEO Stephen Asiimwe has assured all states that Uganda is safe and it will make sure that all foreigners are well protected.
