President Yoweri Museveni has paid a visit to Nakayima Tourist Site in Mubende district to promote tourism.
The President took off time on Thursday morning to view the hills surrounding Nakayima tourist site before heading to Kibaale and Kakumiro districts in Bunyoro Sub-Region to campaign for the Woman MP and LC5 leaders in the two districts.
Museveni meet a group of traditional religion followers and their priests and priestess and donated Shs30 million to them in the name of maintaining and promoting the tourist site.
Nakayima tree which is believed to be sacred gets its name from a princess called Nakayima who resided at this place. Her greatest power was said to be the prevention and cure of smallpox and she was consulted by both the highest and the lowest people about fertility and general illnesses.
