Top City Lawyer David Mpanga has vowed never to return to Silk Liquid after breaching his privacy.
The viral video circulating around social media; shows Mpanga meeting with Vision Group’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Robert Kabushenga at Silk Liquid in Bugolobi and it alleged that they duo was meeting to lay strategies on how to spread negative propaganda against business mogul Sudhir Ruparelia.
Mpanga is part of the lawyers in Sudhir’s court case filed against him by Bank of Uganda for allegedly embezzling over Shs400bn from Crane bank.
And he is said to have been part of the forensic investigation into Crane Bank’s operations after being put under receivership by BoU.
Meanwhile, the city lawyer has said Kabushenga is a very good friend of his and that “he, Aga Sekalala and I meet regularly for a chat and a drink of tea.”
“Our relationship is part mutual mentorship, part networking and part informed debate. We are professionals and do not generally discuss our work or betray work confidences,” said Mpanga.
Adding that, “Sudhir is mistaken to believe that we met to talk about him. We have a lot more in common than that. We are taking the invasion of privacy up with Silk Lounge because we were regulars there – I say were because I will never go back again,”
However, It’s alleged that after the meeting between the two, New Vision started releasing a series of stories about Crane bank saga with the aim of blackmailing the businessman.
