Top FDC leaders have carried messages from President Yoweri Museveni to give various leaders across the continent, seeking support for Dr Specioza Wandira Kazibwe.
Kazibwe wants to become African Union Commission boss. She is the Eastern Africa candidate.
Winnie Kiiza, the opposition leader in parliament and Cecilia Ogwal, the parliament commissioner, have carried messages from Museveni to his fellow leaders asking them to support the Ugandan.
Kazibwe cannot visit all countries before the AU summit due July 10-18. That’s how she unleashed a powerful machinery to represent her. However, according to protocol, representatives have to be introduced by the fellow president.
Winnie headed to Nigeria while Cecilia has been in Eritrea.
The move however has been criticized by radicals in the opposition, accusing their leaders of working for Museveni’s interests.
