The Swedish government has given a grant worth $4.5 million dollars to roll out renewable energy to poverty striken communites who cannot afford to pay electricity in Uganda.

The Swedish Ambassador to Uganda, Per Lindgarde says such intervention are put in place to go along way interms of addressing the challenges the country is facing.

He says the four year project will enable the beneficiaries get solar panels that will provide lighting in their homesteads and also help them create employment opportunities.
