Today morning vendors who adamantly refused to vacate the Kampala streets have exchanged fists with the Kampala City Council Authorities and the police as they tried to forcefully send them off from the streets.
KCCA with the help of the police raided the vendors and started destroying and confiscating their goods which annoyed the vendors. The vendors retaliated by fighting with the opponents.
“We shall not allow to be mistreated like that yet we are also Ugandans who are trying to better our lives,” one of the vendors said.
Last week the minister for Kampala, Betty Kamya sent the vendors off the streets of Kampala which directive some officials in KCCA like the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago doesn’t agree to.
