The public relations fraternity in Uganda, PRAU, has picked Ms. Cynthia Mpanga as the new president.
Ms Mpanga will be deputised by Mr. Peter Odeke.
Cynthia, a down to earth banker, has been the association’s General Secretary.
She is currently Standard Chartered bank’s Country Brand and Marketing Manager.
Cynthia joined Standard Chartered Bank Uganda in 2004 as a customer service officer and rose through the ranks to her current position in the bank.
The Public Relations Association of Uganda Facebook page says Cynthia has over 12 years work experience in; investor relations, product development, corporate communications, branding, motivational speaking, Marketing, Strategy, Planning, employee relations, event Management, Management, Internal Communications, Media Relations, Social Media management, project management, research, CSR, advertising, Crisis management, brand management and reputation management.
“Cynthia has a Degree in Business Administration (BBA) from Makerere University and a Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies. She has trained in I.T and Project Management. She understands the NGO, media, banking, and education sectors. She is well travelled. Cynthia has worked for the Standard Chartered Group in India, Gambia, Kenya and Tanzania,” says the PRAU page.
“She serves on the Boards of; Educate! and Lunch4Learning.These are both NGOs.She also sits on the steering committee for the United Nations Global Compact Uganda.”
