The third round of the National Rally Championships is set to rev off in the areas of Masaka, Kyotera and Lwengo districts.
The event, which is to be organized by Southern Motor Club will cover a total distance of just over 208 kilometers with a total competitive distance of 135 kilometers. Over the years, the Masaka round has produced some of the fastest competitive speeds.
This year promises more of that with a total of six sections with the longest to cover 40 kilometres and the shortest 20 kilometers plus a spectator stage of 2.6 kilometres to be run on both days.
Some of the stages have been run before in previous years like the Masaka Motorsport Arena spectator stage in Kako which will be run as a nucleus on both days but as a double circuit according to the event organisers.
The event will be officially launched on Wednesday April 3 at Club Tavern Kick in Masaka with scrutineering done on Friday, April 12 at Shell Buddu then with Ceremonial Start on Saturday, April 13.
Meanwhile entries for the event are open and will close next week on Friday April 5, at the Federation of Motorsport (FMU) Offices in Lugogo.
Three-time national champion Ronald Sebuguzi leads the chase for the 2019 national title with 160 points. Hassan Alwi is second with 140 points with Yassin Nasser a close third with 115 points while Jas Mangat is fourth with 100 points after two rounds.
