Wed, November 20: KCCA FC vs URA –StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo
Uganda’s former continental representatives, KCCA FC are set to meet, in yet another do or die contest, their previous season’s toughest opponents URA FC at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo, today.
URA FC was the only club to grab three points from the defending champions at their home turf in Lugogo in the 2018-19 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season, winning 1-2 win.
Today, they meet a rejuvenated KCCA which defeated table leaders Vipers SC 1-0 while Sam Simbwa’s charges come into this affair after a frustrating goalless draw with Busoga Utd in Bombo.
URA FC sit 12th on the log with 15 points, two games ahead of the hosts who are even better positioned at fifth with 22 points.
During the pre match press conference held at the hosts stadium in Lugogo, youngester Allam Okello had to give his feelings about the game after his return from national duty where he made a debut in the senior national team.
In his absence the club won all the club matches and now Okello says that it will be a curse for his return to yield either a loss or draw.
It’s not Okello’s only thought but coach Mike Mutebi also says despite last season loss, his charges are far better than their guests and vowed to look for maximum points in all the remaining first round matches to catchup with the table leaders Vipers Sc.
Okello is not only KCCA’s returnee. Nicholas Kasozi and goal keeper Charles Lukwago who shall push Jamil Malyamungu back to the bench. Sadat Anaku, Julius Poloto and Ibrahim Sadam Juma are yet to recover from injuries.
URA still miss Seluyide Moses and Kirama Victor but welcome Paul Mbowa and Joachim Ojera who missed the previous Busoga Utd match.
