Zaga to Express, Maddoi shown exit as Vipers trim squad

Vipers Sports Club new technical team has rung the changes on the playing staff at the club by wielding the axe on a number of fringe first team players.

Many of the players have been however, offered on a loan basis but left back Aggrey Maddoi has been released by the club after his contract ran out and both parties failed to reach an agreement on time with rumours claiming he has already received offers from a number of foreign clubs including Kenya’s Tusker FC.

The 2017 Fufa Young Player of the Year Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye has been the highlight of those offered for loan after the player refused to move to Police FC in August. Then he decided to stay and fight for his place in the team but has failed to nail down a spot making only two appearances.

The club announced that Zaga has been loaned out to 2011 league champions Express FC to continue his development.

“The midfielder is a joy to watch; his ball distribution, mobility and dribbling skills are exceptional and would hurt any opponent without a doubt but has failed to make a mark and challenge fellow midfielders like Moses Waisswa, Tom Masiko, Brian Nkuubi, Rahmat Senfuka, Duncan Sseninde and Abraham Ndugwa,”  the club said on its website.

The Uganda Premier League Champions also announced that forwards Noah Wafula and Davis Kasirye, defender Okot Fred as well as Burundian Nizeye Sefu are all available for loan.
