In a landmark development for Ugandan football, EXPRESS FC has proudly unveiled SEMABET Uganda as the official kit sponsor for the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season.

This strategic partnership, falls under SEMABET’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, initially set for one year with an option for renewal, marks a significant boost for the club and will provide a wide range of playing and training kits.

This commitment by SEMABET, valued at up to UGX 500,000,000, represents a major milestone for EXPRESS FC and will play a pivotal role in enhancing the club’s operations, strengthening its competitive capabilities, and supporting further investments in squad development, technical staff, infrastructure, and community initiatives.

“Our CSR initiative is set to propel EXPRESS FC to even greater success, both on and off the field,” said Andrew Kitamirike, Head of Operations at SEMABET Uganda. “Our collaboration with EXPRESS FC is a strategic alignment with our vision to be at the forefront of developing Ugandan grass roots soccer.”

“By supporting EXPRESS FC, we connect directly with the hearts of Ugandan football fans while staying true to our CSR commitments. We have funded the transfer of one of Uganda’s top left-backs, Mustafa Kizza, from KCCA FC to EXPRESS FC, which will significantly strengthen the club’s squad.”

Andrew also highlighted SEMABET’s broader CSR initiatives, such as their project in Kyamukola village, Kabarole District:

“Our CSR efforts go beyond football. In Kyamukola, we provided sustainable access to clean water through an electric-powered well and a 20,000-litre reservoir tank, addressing critical community needs. Whether it’s on the football pitch or in our communities, SEMABET is dedicated to being a force for positive change.”

EXPRESS FC CEO, Mr. Miiro Ashraf, shared his optimism about the partnership, stating: “This sponsorship marks a pivotal moment for EXPRESS FC. The financial backing provided by SEMABET will enable us to make crucial investments across the club—from our squad and technical staff to infrastructure and community outreach. We are confident this partnership will give us the competitive edge to challenge for the Uganda Premier League trophy.”

As EXPRESS FC gears up for the upcoming 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season, the team will debut their new SEMABET-branded kits in a highly anticipated opening match against newly promoted Mbale Heroes FC on Monday, September 17, at 7:00 PM at the newly renovated HAMZ Stadium (formerly Nakivubo Stadium).
