Rhinos Rugby Football Club, in partnership with the Buganda Kingdom and Vivo Energy Uganda will host the second edition of the annual Coronation Rugby 7s Cup at Legends Rugby Grounds on Saturday July 20, 2019.
The Coronation Rugby 7s Cup will also double as the fifth circuit of this year’s Roke Sevens and will feature 16 teams (12 Male and four Female).
This particular edition of the Sevens is part of the commemoration activities to celebrate the crowning of Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II as Kabaka of Buganda.
“Buganda Kingdom emphasizes healthy living and rugby is a sport of healthy bodies and minds. How can we miss out on such an exciting event?” asked Prince David Wasajja, a Uganda Rugby Union trustee during a press conference on Tuesday. “The Kabaka appreciates the contribution of sports to the Kingdom. Rugby is a sport that teaches the values of integrity, solidarity, discipline and respect and therefore we need to embrace it and support it.”
The all-day event on and off the pitch will feature a variety of foods, drinks and entertainment on the day.
Part of the gate collection proceeds will be donated to a community outreach project within the Buganda Kingdom Community.
Entrance fee is Shs5,000.
