Democratic Party (DP) president, Norbert Mao has notified that the party has put up a total of Sh1million to be given to anyone has has relevant information leading to the assailants who murdered the party Chairman in Rwampara Constituency in Mbarara District, Apollo Karibiita.

Karibiita was found murdered in his farm on 29 December, 2016.

While addressing journalists at the party headquarters on Tuesday, Mao said they don’t know the intentions of the murderers but they can’t rule out politics adding that so far one suspect connected to the murder has been arrested and now under the custody of police.

“The party has put up a reward of Sh1m to be given to anyone with credible information leading to the assailants,” Mao said.

Further, Mao revealed that the party lawyer, Samuel Muyiizi has been attacked twice by unknown attackers alleging that they demand him to stop representing Kasese Victims before Court and he is among the counsels who filed a proceeding asking ICC to investigate the mass murders in Kasese recently.

Muyiizi was first attacked on 30 December, 2016 by three men at Princess Anne Drive Bugolobi in Kampala and was strangled into unconsciousness.

“He was first attacked on December 30 2016 while he was shopping and last night, the attackers who accosted him in town told him to withdraw his representation of the victims.” Mao asserted.
