In the days every one is looking for an opportunity to get a presidential handshake from President Yoweri Museveni, one would envy Sarah Kagingo, a PR and communications professional who enjoys a fanatical following on social media and spends most of her time promoting Uganda to the world and inspire Ugandans to love their country.
Kagingo who was among guests of the East African Legislative Assembly Speaker Dan Kidega, later posted on her wall saying, “Talking handshakes, check out this super one at the end of President Museveni’s address to the East African Legislative Assembly, 17th Jan 2017.” The post has attracted comments ranging from “that is the real handshake,” “it is a blessings handshake” to “that is an endorsement for EALA.
Kagingo who is contesting for the EALA seat in the upcoming elections is credited for digitising President Museveni’s communications.
She was a special presidential assistant for communications before she launched her SoftPower Communications franched which among others is engaged in strategic communications, social good, digital diplomacy, destination marketing and has helped give visibility to high profile personalities in the region as well as business executives.
