Fast growing airline, RwandAir will start flights to Mumbai, India in December.

RwandaAir boss John Mirenge said the airline would start with four flights to Mumbai per week with its brand new A330-300 aircraft.

Mirenge told the media in Kigali that the airline that has found favour in the region as cost friendly, has appointed India’s Bird Travel as the general sales agent as it prepares to launch the route.

Ms Sonia Kamikazi, Rwanda Air’s corporate quality assurance manager, said the airline has been IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certified, which guarantees its safety and airworthiness which ensures competitiveness of the airline in the cutthroat aviation industry.

Currently, RwandaAir flies to 17 destinations, including Nairobi, Entebbe, Mombasa, Bujumbura, Lusaka, Juba, Douala, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Johannesburg, Dubai, Lagos, Libreville and Brazzaville.
