The Rubanda district LC5 chairperson, Mr Joggo Kenneth Biryabareema on Tuesday this week fired his deputy, Mr silver Baguma and replaced him with his former rival in the chairmanship race – Mr Pastori Turinomuhangyi.

Turinomuhangyi contested in the 2016 NRM primaries where chairman Biryabareema won the race.
Chairman Biryabareema made this announcement on Tuesday when the district Council was holding a Council session at the district headquarters in mulore, Rubanda.
“Mr Turinomuhangyi is a man of extraordinary qualities and experience, having served as the district speaker of Kabale district from 2011-2016 ” Biryabareema said.
Turinomuhangyi, who represents Muko subcounty at Rubanda district has made news headlines in the area for the last 7 years.  He in 2011 survived an assassination attempt that was suspected to be from his political rivals after which he attained serious injuries allover his body.
In 2016, he was allegedly abducted by Hon Henry Banyenzaki’s (former minister, MP) campaign team for his role in supporting the minister’s rival, Hon Denis Sabiiti (MP Rubanda West).
In his acceptance speech, Turinomuhangyi pledged to work together with the chairman in the next three years for the development of the district. He was immediately sworn in to take over the waiting office.
His appointment attracted a lot of support from district councilors, who were surprised when the chairman appointed his former rival.
“Thank you Mr chairman for that appointment. Thank you for choosing a capable person ” one of the councilors was quoted saying.
According to  Biryabareema, the changes were made cause better service delivery in the district.
