Reduced donor support could reverse gains made in fighting HIV/AIDS in Uganda.

The concern has been relayed by the executive director of Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC), Dr Christine Ondoa.

This comes as global priorities begin to shift towards funding issues such as climatic change and the campaign against non- communicable diseases among others. Ondoa has cautioned that HIV/AIDS was still a big challenge for Uganda and efforts must continue to priotize it as a public health threat.

She urged the government to identify strategies that will help raise funds domestically to ensure a significant reduction in HIV prevalence in the country.
