The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) has summoned Red pepper newspaper editors to its headquarters over ‘falsely’ reporting that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen. Kale Kayihura was ill.

Recently Redpepper reported that Kayihura was flown to India while in a critical condition to seek medical help.

Police came out to refute Red pepper’s claims saying that the police boss was in Turkey on official police duties. On Saturday photos of Kayihura emerged online showing that he was in Turkey as earlier alleged by the police spokesman Assan Kasingye.

Now, CID wants Red pepper to reveal where it got such information. Gen Kayihura has already returned in the country and has been reported to have met senior police bosses.
