Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni preached NRM ideology to the young soldiers on Friday afternoon.

Museveni lectured the UPDF Cadet officers numbering at least 270 in Kabamba.

The officers who will be passed out in October reportedly enjoyed the lecture on the Principles of NRM.

“I gave a lecture to 270 UPDF cadet officers at Kabamba this afternoon,” the president posted on his Facebook page.

“It’s important for all our youth to be ideologically oriented,” he addedn

The President said a country is built on factors such as; patriotism, pan-Africanism, social-economic transformation and democracy.

“Kingdoms had divided Ugandans, being governed differently even though the people are the same.

Colonialism also introduced religious sectarianism.

But when NRM came into power, we fought sectarianism”, he told the cadets.

The President called upon the young soldiers to work for unity.

“We usually say we were colonized because we had no guns, but Japan, Ethiopia had no guns when Europe tried to conquer them and they failed. We were conquered because we were divided. We must unite around a common interest.”
