Over the past two weeks, Kampala Metropolitan Police arrested 113 suspected robbers who have been terrorizing people in several areas.

While addressing journalists today in Kampala, Kampala Metropolitan Commander CP. Mwesigwa Frank the suspects were netted from areas of Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso.

He said all the 113 suspects are being charged under simple robbery, aggravated robbery and theft from areas like Bwaise, Najjera, Kiwatule, Wakiso, Kawempe,Ntinda,Makindye among others.

“92 have been taken to court and remanded to Luzira, still working on files for the remaining 21 suspects including six women,”Mwesigwa noted.

According the police commander, suspects were found with various weapons which they use in their attacks including one AK47 with 24 rounds, one Pistol with nine rounds, one toy pistol. Others include 13 knives, two axes, 15 motor vehicles, two bags of opium,five pangas, heavy duty cutters,master keys.

Some of the recovered items during the operation include 30 monitors, 15 CPU’s, 10 TV’s, 15 phones, and 20 ATM cards.
