Trust Ugandans on social media for milking just about anything their way. Well, just a few days after celebrity couple ‘Kimye’ landed in Uganda for a private vacation, some creative chap found away of making their visit relevant. And so they picked a photo of Kanye and Kim from a 2013 date during a trip to London and in place of ice cream, placed ‘rolex’.

Kim had in 2015 re-shared the same photo in honour of World IceCream Day in a major throwback on Instagram that was viewed millions of times. Now it has been resurrected and has garnered another million views thanks to good photoshop skills and the timeless delicacy of egg and chapati, commonly known as the rolex.

Sugary cravings: Kim Kardashian and Kanye shared a throwback snap in honour of National Ice Cream Day

Ofcourse the photo has excited Ugandans, sith some lauding their ‘patriotism’.

A Rolex is a popular food item in Uganda, combining an egg omelette and vegetables wrapped in a chapatti. There is a whole festival dedicated to the Rolex and it was named by CNN among  top African foods.

Kim and Kanye along with their daughter North West arrived in Uganda on Friday and are currently residing at the luxurious Chobe Safari Lodge; situated in Murchison Falls national park.

The rapper put up a make shift studio in the park where he will record some of his tracks for his new album ‘Yandhi’.

What better way to market the rolex.
