Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze on Saturday organised a thanksgiving mass at her home in Mukono to thank God for the gift of life after undergoing two successful surgical operations at Manipal Spine Centre in India.

Nambooze was discharged from Manipal Spinal Centre on Friday and she landed at Entebbe Airport on Saturday aboard Emirates Airways.

The mass was led by Rev Fr. Sebitoogo and in attendance were many bigwigs including; Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Opposition Chief whip Ibrahim Nganda Ssemujju, Kasibante Moses, Emmanuel Serunjoji , Counsel Kiwanuka Abdallah, Henry Bazira Ssewanana, Imamu Makumbi, Harold Kaija among others.

Nambooze left for India on July 4, 2018 following her brutal arrest by police on charges of inciting violence after the death of Arua Municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga on June 8, 2018. She was accompanied by her husband, and personal doctor.

She was first flown to India in November last year for specialized management of backbone injuries she suffered to during the age-limit debate scuffle that erupted in Parliament on September 27, 2017.
