Parliament gave each of the 1,000 gold medalists Sh500,000 as a token for attendance.

Watchdog understands that the money which amounts to at least sh500 million was disguised as transport refund.

However, the same amount of money was given to all attendees whether it was Ken Lukyamuzi from Lubaga in Kampala or the former MPs from the far border districts such as Koboko, Kotido or Kisoro.

Parliament jubilee medals at Kampala Serena Conference Centre was ignored by the majority of right thinking former and present MPs saying they were a wastage of tax payers money. Among former and present MPs that boycotted the event include Dr Kizza Besigye, Winnie Byanyima, Betty Nambooze, Miria Matembe, Norbert Mao, among others.
