Yesterday was a day to remember for Uganda Cranes and Mamelodi Sundown goalkeeper, Denis Onyango as he won the CAF African player of the year.

After being awarded, Onyango wrote a victory message on his facebook page. The excited shot stopper thanked everyone who has enabled him to reach that far but unfortunately, he didn’t mention FUFA anywhere in his speech.

It is alleged that Moses Magogo’s FUFA and Onyango don’t see eye to eye probably that could be the reason why Africa’s number one goalie snubbed the association in his speech.

The differences between Onyango and FUFA begun recently when President Yoweri Museveni fulfilled his pledge of giving Uganda Cranes players who played and defeated Comoros in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

President Museveni gave each player $ 15000 but due to the greed in FUFA, some players were given $ 10000 and some less which annoyed them.

Discontended Onyango complained and also went ahead to post on his social media expressing his anger which act FUFA didn’t perceive well.

Onyango’s action sparked outrage among Ugandans and its alleged that it is the reason why FUFA never named Onyango as the best player of the year,2016 yet he was supposed to scoop the award.

Onyango’s victory message;
