The National Water and Sewage Cooperation(NWSC) plans to extend water services to more than 255 villages in Uganda by 2020.

This came as a response to Uganda Women Network (UWONET) which had called upon the government to ensure accessibility and affordability for water in the country especially in rural areas.

Speaking to the commencement of the third women’s week in Kampala, Alfred Okidi, a manager at NWSC said so far they have covered 175 villages.

He further added that their target is to ensure that for every 200 people there’s a water point in the next two years.

The NWSC is expected to spend over shs 90 billion to meet this objective.
