In a significant move leading up to their much-anticipated concert, Uganda’s beloved comedy duo, Madrat and Chiko, met with Speaker of Parliament Anita Among today to discuss support for their upcoming event. Scheduled for this Saturday, October 8, the concert marks a decade of laughter and entertainment that the duo has provided to Ugandans.
The meeting took place in Among’s office, where the duo, real names Dickson Lubega and Frank Mubiru, sought backing for their milestone celebration, titled “10 Years of Madrat and Chiko, Nseko bu Seko Season 5.” The event, organized by Talent Africa, will be held at the scenic Kampala Sheraton Gardens, promising an unforgettable evening filled with humor and joy.
Reflecting on their journey, Madrat and Chiko have become synonymous with laughter in Uganda, consistently uplifting spirits and relieving stress through their comedic performances. With a successful career trajectory that has seen them rise to fame, the duo continues to play an essential role in the entertainment landscape of the country.
During the meeting, Speaker Among expressed her enthusiasm for the arts, stating, “This afternoon, I had the pleasure of meeting one of Uganda’s top stand-up comedy duos, Madrat and Chiko. They shared insightful ideas and proposals to further enhance the rapidly growing performing arts sector in Uganda. I assured them of Parliament’s support and pledged to back their upcoming show as they celebrate 10 years this weekend.”
