Former Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Onapito Ekomoloit, describing him as one of the finest journalists of his generation. Ekomoloit, who was also a former legislator and presidential press secretary, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy that has profoundly impacted Uganda’s media and political landscape.
In his eulogy, Kabushenga lauded Ekomoloit as “the best interviewer of our generation in the media,” highlighting his skill in crafting incisive and relevant questions. According to Kabushenga, Ekomoloit’s work as a print journalist was impeccable and beyond reproach, earning him a sterling reputation early in his career.
“He mastered his craft early on and made a huge contribution to defining political journalism and free expression,” Kabushenga noted, emphasizing the late Ekomoloit’s role in shaping the course of media and public discourse in Uganda.
Ekomoloit’s illustrious career spanned both the media industry and the political sphere, where his professionalism and dedication to truth and transparency left an indelible mark. His passing is mourned by colleagues, friends, and the nation at large as a significant loss to both journalism and public service.
