Anderson Burora, the former Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Rubaga Division, has officially announced his decision to join elective politics in 2026.
Burora, who recently resigned from his role as a commissioner, made the announcement on his X account, confirming what many had already anticipated.
In his post, Burora shared that after much reflection and discussions with his family and close friends, he has decided to enter the political race in 2026.
He stated, “After a deep, thoughtful conversation with myself, my family, and some close friends, this is to confirm that in 2026, I will be joining elective politics.”
His resignation earlier this year raised eyebrows, especially after he accused the ruling NRM party and some of its leaders of corruption. This fueled speculation that Burora was preparing for a political career, and his recent announcement has now made it official.
Many political observers had already expected this move, given Burora’s public criticism of the current leadership and his decision to step down from his previous government role.
However, questions remain about which political position Burora intends to run for and under which party he will contest.
