Dr. Kizza Besigye: Is Museveni Too Paralyzed To Collect the Ugx 200 billion That Rwabwogo Stole?

In a dramatic twist that has set the internet ablaze, Dr. Kizza Besigye, Uganda’s veteran opposition leader and four-time presidential candidate, has fired back at a recent social media post by none other than General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the CDF and first son.

It all started with a controversial post from a verified X account titled “General Muhoozi Kainerugaba!”. This isn’t any anonymous social media handle; the account has been consistently promoting Muhoozi’s bid for the presidency in the upcoming 2026 elections. In a fiery message, the author of the post claimed to know “where Rwabwogo is hiding UGX 200 billion loot.” And just to make things more dramatic, Muhoozi, who has never been known for his restraint on social media, took it a step further by labeling Rwabwogo, a Senior Presidential Advisor, as “the BIGGEST thief in Uganda.”

But who is Rwabwogo, and why does he matter in this political drama? Odrek Rwabwogo, who happens to be President Museveni’s son-in-law, has held several influential positions within the government and is known to have political ambitions of his own. However, being accused of hoarding UGX 200 billion is quite another matter! For context, that’s over 11 times the amount UGX 18 billion that medical interns in Uganda are desperately demanding to keep the country’s healthcare system running smoothly.

Dr. Besigye was quick to pounce on the explosive accusation. “Does it mean that the NRM/M7 Junta is so paralyzed that it can’t collect the Shs 200bn, whose location seems to be known?” Besigye posted, capturing the frustration of many Ugandans. He went on to question how citizens could allow “all this nonsense to continue,” further stoking the flames of political discourse.

This incident highlights the ever growing tensions within the first family. Is Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s public accusation an act of political maneuvering to weaken a rival ahead of 2026, or is it a genuine outcry against corruption in high places? And what about Besigye’s involvement ,will this give new life to his opposition movement, or is it just another chapter in Uganda’s endless saga of political theatrics?

As for now, the nation waits with bated breath. Will we get a response from Rwabwogo, or will he remain silent amid the controversy? One thing is for sure: Uganda’s political landscape just got a lot more interesting! Stay tuned for what happens next in this unfolding drama of power, money, and politics.
