A shocking case of incest and aggravated defilement has been reported in Rukiga district, where a Rwandan national, Fosta Twizemana, 40, has been arrested for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his 6-year-old biological daughter.
According to the police, Twizemana, a herdsman at Kayebe cell in Kigara parish, Kamwezi sub-county, committed the heinous act on July 26, 2024, while grazing cattle on a farm. The suspect had gone to the farm with his wife, Veneranda Baresirente, 40, and their two daughters, aged 2 and 6 years.
The police report indicates that Twizemana sent the 2-year-old away and then had sex with the 6-year-old victim. After the act, he sent her back to her mother, who noticed blood stains on her thighs and difficulty in movement. The victim revealed to her mother that she had been defiled by her father.
The mother immediately reported the incident to Kamwezi police station, leading to Twizemana’s arrest and transfer to CPS Rukiga for further management.
ASP Elly Maate, PRO Kigezi, condemned the act as “barbaric and uncultured,” emphasizing that the victim needed parental protection, not defilement.
The suspect will be arraigned before the courts of law to answer charges accordingly upon completion of inquiries.
