In a powerful appeal for solidarity, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has urged all admirers and supporters of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi to come together in unity to counter the voices challenging the Buganda Kingdom.
On Monday while addressing the press on the return of Kabaka from Namibia at Mengo, the Katikkiro of Buganda Kingdom emphasized the importance of a united front, he highlighted that only through collective strength and shared commitment can they effectively address and overcome the opposition threatening the kingdom’s unity and heritage.
He stressed that the Kingdom administration is fully aware of certain individuals who are working tirelessly to discrete the Buganda Kingdom heritage possibly with the view to destroy the kingdom. “These individuals have consistently uttered falsehoods about the Kabaka’s condition, his officials and members of his family. There are also others whose goal is to weaken the institutions by which the Kingdom upheld.”
He warned that some of the detractors come as friends with wide smiles while they intend to cause cracks within the different segments of the kingdom. He revealed that the Kingdom knows them and is going to do whatever it takes to fail their plans.
“I urge the people of Buganda to firmly deal with these detractors and disruptors! These distractors and disruptors instigated a handful of people to demi-grade the Republic of Namibia and some of their missions abroad purporting ………we endured this kind of embarrassment even inside Namibia itself. On behalf of the kingdom of Buganda, I extend our sincere apologies to the government and people of Nambia for all the discomfort that some of these disruptors caused abroad and the people of Namibia,” he said.
He revealed that the kingdom has been warning about these individuals. “We will not rest as we see the Kabaka being undermined by these people. These people have been visiting the Namibian Embassy under the guise of demanding the Kabaka, yet their motives are selfish.
