His Royal Highness Maj. Baker Kimeze has advised all Ugandans to embrace all government programs about poverty alleviation, more especially the Parish Development Model.
The Omukama for Obukama bwa Bunyala Rtd Maj.Baker Kimeze Mpagi Byarufu 11 made these remarks while at Kyerima ,Kitimbwa Sub County in Kayunga District; when he was opening the clan leaders’ convention, who came from various areas. Some of the Institution’s ministers were in attendance too.
This convention was opened by a prayer led by the retired Rev. Wilson Galimaka, The Former Mukono diocesan Education secretary who is the speaker of the Obukama’s parliament.
He implored all the Banyala to always know and remember their tribe, he affirmed that God made several tribes where Banyala tribe is one of them. He therefore urged members to be united as a tribe.
The key note speaker, Mr. Yiga Amos addressed the clan leaders and implored them to do alot of mobilisation of their subordinates, and to advise them to work together and never to be separated by the mere material things which last not.
While making his closing remarks, His Royal Highness, Ssabanyala Kimeze was dismayed by how the youths in Obukama have intentionally failed to appreciate what and who they are, but instead shy away from associating with their tribe, and because of their inferiority complex, they relate to other tribes to which they don’t belong. He therefore, advised the clan leaders to come up with a comprehensive program that will entice the youths to love their tribe.
He reaffirmed to the clan leaders to involve themselves in government’s Developmental programs in order to alleviate poverty.
The prime minister of Obukama, Rt Hon. Senkatuuka Martin Luther together with the clan Minister, informed the gathered members of the gist of the convention as to equip the clan leaders with leadership skills for they form the Institution’s heart.
They promised to have more of these conventions and the concerned minister, Munywanyi Musoke Samuel shown the challenges encountered in the process though.
