Kole Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Trevor Solomon Baleke on Friday 06th May, 2022, commissioned 120 students of Otinowaa Comprehensive Secondary School in Ayer Sub County, Kole district after completing patriotism training.
Addressing the trainees, staff and parents of the school, Baleke advised parents to always bless the young ones.
He said one of the most important jobs as parents is to keep their children’s lives covered in prayers.
“It does not matter whether they are not your biological children, for as long as they are under your care please bless them. Pray for them. For these young ones too go through a lot of challenges. Children do need and greatly benefit from our prayers.”
“There is great power in prayer far beyond what most people imagine. In fact, don’t ever underestimate the power of a praying parent. Most of us are alive because of that. So it is only fair to return the favour,” he said.
Baleke a renowned Catholic and prayer warrior told the congregation that when they pray, they should identify every concern, fear, worry, or possible scenario that might befall their children and lead them into danger.
He encouraged the students to be self reliant and to love their country. He said the new generation should not be a group of people who complain about everything but citizens who understand their constitutional responsibility in building of their country.
“I want to assure you that amongst you here are great men and women. Men and women who sit on the front row at functions like this, in future. That colleague sharing with you a decker shall one day be either MP, RDC, LC V chairman, a doctor or an engineer. Please love and encourage them,” he said.
Baleke also challenged the students to be crusaders of love and peace not only at their school but in their communities and everywhere they go.
“When you go back home, go straight to your parent, face them and say into their eyes that “I love you.”
“A person who does himself and the people around him doesn’t injure other others nor break the law. Patriotism is all about love and hard work,” he affirmed.
He said the office of the president in Kole would ensure patriotism training is embraced by all post primary institutions in the district because it is constitutional requirement.
The trainees were given the core values of patriotism, community policing and crime prevention. They were also highlighted on patriotic methods of work and lifestyle.
