Nakaseke South Member of Parliament Paulson Luttamaguzi Ssemakula has disclosed that he will stand on National Unity Platform (NUP) party ticket in the next general elections in 2026.
Although the vocal politician belongs to Democratic Party, he praises and deals with NUP and its leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine more than his current political party.
Luttamaguzi is serving his second term in Parliament.
Appearing on BBS Terefayina popular political show “Amaaso ku Ggwanga” moderated by Steven Dunstan Busuulwa on Thursday, the Deputy Chairperson of Parliament’s Local Government Committee said he will be joining the Kamwokya based political outfit in the next general elections and that he will seek re-election for Nakaseke South Parliamentary seat in 2026 on the party’s ticket.
“In my two terms in Parliament I have been following the old testament but because of my President Bobi Wine, in 2026 I will be holding an umbrella during my last term in Parliament as Nakaseke South representative,” Luttamaguzi asserted.
“On top of being a deputy chairperson for Local Government Accounts Committee, my president also entrusted me to be the NUP mobiliser for Greater Luweero,” he added.
Following his revelation, Luttamaguzi will be joining his colleagues who in 2020 dumped DP for NUP.
Those who crossed from Uganda’s oldest political party to NUP included;Busiro East MP Medard Lubega Sseggona, Masaka City mayor Florence Namayanja, Bukomansimbi Woman MP Veronica Nanyondo, Butambala County MP Muwanga Kivumbi, Kalungu West MP Joseph Ssewungu Gonzaga, Nyendo-Mukungwe MP Mathias Mpuuga, Mukono municipality MP Betty Nambooze, Makindye West MP Allan Ssewayana among others.
