Police in Arua City are investigating the circumstances under which one of their own was found dead. The deceased Martin Aluma, was attached to Field Force Unit at Arua Central Police Station.
According to police, Aluma handed over the keys to his motor vehicle to an unidentified woman whom he was staying with at Ayiko cell, Ayivu Division in Arua City at 8 pm and informed her that he was going on a journey.
However, at 6 am, Aluma’s body was found hanging on a tree in mission cell, Komite ward, Ayivu West division, Arua City by a resident.
West Nile Police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia says that Aluma’s body was taken to Arua Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
According to Angucia, investigations have kicked off to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
Aluma formerly served as an escort to the former Police Spokesperson, the late Andrew Felix Kaweesi. At the time of his death, Aluma was in charge of the armory at Arua Central Police.
