Muhammad Kivumbi, the director of Vision Nursery and Primary School in Busula trading center in Luwero district is in police custody after being accused of defiling his pupil.
It is alleged that on Friday, April 1, 2022, the suspect summoned the 11-year-old girl to his office around 10 pm through the school matron and defiled her. The victim told police that Kivumbi asked her to bring books to his office after night preps.
She, however, explains that no sooner had she stepped into the office than the director switched off the lights and forced her into sexual intercourse. She says that Kivumbi threatened to curse her to fail her Primary Leaving Exams if she dares to tell anybody about the incident.
She claims that Kivumbi repeatedly used the same trick to defile her several times prompting her to open up to her mother during her visit to the school. The victim’s mother said that she immediately rushed her child to Luwero hospital where it was established that she was defiled and infected with Sexually Transmitted Diseases-STDs.
She immediately lodged a complaint at Wobulenzi Police Station, which swung into action and picked up the director.
Isah Ssemwogerere, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, says that Kivumbi is currently in custody at Luwero Central Police Station on charges of aggravated defilement. He says that they have submitted his file to the State Attorney for sanctioning.
In December last year, a teacher at Child Care Primary School in Kikyusa town council in Luwero district was also arrested for defiling a nine-year-old pupil who was entrusted to him for private coaching. According to a Crime report released by Police, at least 174 children were defiled in Luwero district in 2020.
