Residents of Nyahuka town council in Bundibugyo district have recovered a body of an unidentified man killed and dumped by the roadside.
The body was dumped in Bundimulinga East cell, Kyabi ward, Nyahuka town council along Nyahuka-Bundibugyo road. The deceased is reportedly in his 50’s.
This incident comes barely four days after the body of the District NRM registrar Robert Kifunga Aguma was also discovered by children when it had been dumped near Bimara stream in Kanyansimbi Ward Bundibugyo Town Council.
The chairperson Bundimulinga East cell, Christopher Kunoba said the deceased was found without shoes and could have been murdered by thugs. He added the locals who had woken around the area discovered the body and alerted local authorities.
The Bundibugyo Police commander Aggrey Okumu said they are investigating the incident to establish whether the deceased was killed in an accident or by criminals. However, he cautioned the local community to desist from moving at night or without company if they must.
Agnes Mbambu who was among the first people to see the body, says they are worried about the increasing cases of insecurity in the district. A part from murder cases she also says there are increased cases of theft.
