The newly elected Speaker of the 11th Parliament Anita Among has adopted the daughter of the late Speaker Emeritus Jacob Oulanyah.
The Speaker adopted Atim Oulanyah over the weekend and she plans to take her to Canada for Studies, as a way of granting her late father’s wish.
This was revealed by Among’s close associate also Kasambya County Member of Parliament, David Kabanda.
“Our Friend’s daughter Atim Oulanyah made 16 years today. On instructions of the Speaker of parliament, i took the little one to the speaker’s residence and they had lunch together this afternoon,” Kabanda tweeted on Sunday.
“The Rt. Hon. Anita Among has adopted Atim Oulanyah. His father’s wish was that she finishes her studies in Canada. The speaker has this evening instructed her staff to process a visa and arrange Atim’s travel after burial of our deceased friend,” he added.
