Police in Rukungiri disrict is investigating circumstances under which two people were allegedly murdered on allegation that they were practicing witchcraft.
The deceased have been identified as Narisi Katarihwa Alias Monday 48 and Annet Kemirembe,51 both of Rwencwera cell Rushasha parish Nyakagyeme sub county Rukungiri district.
The two are suspected to have bewitched three people around 2020 and one of their alleged victims Valeriano Ndyanabangyi,63 resident of Burera Village Nyakagyeme Sub county died from his home after a long illness.
According to the Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate, relatives of the deceased gathered, killed and later burnt the two victims.
