The First Deputy Prime Minister RT Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has commissioned 4 classroom block, and 4 stanza boys water borne toilet at Busoga High School.
Kadaga also led the ground breaking of another project aimed at construction of two blocks of four classrooms , a waterborne toilet and an incinerator at the girls end, a solar powered security lights on the school compound and renovation of Head teacher’s house among others.
While commissioning the project worth shs 850 million on Wednesday, Kadaga noted that Busoga High School has been the best performing school in kamuli and Busoga at large and it has never been supported by the government for the last 100 years so it’s time for the government to focus on it.
Kadaga also promised to look for funds that will be used to re- roof the old buildings at the school.
‘’Security lights will help the guards to tighten the security at school so that all students are safe and noted that the project will cost 850 million and the commissioned buildings will cost 350 millions,” the Kamuli Woman MP said.
The Head teacher of Busoga High School Ms. Nambi Oliver noted that this is done to improve on the learning of their students hence improving the performance at school.
She also appreciated Kadaga for the effort she has put in to develop Kamuli and Busoga High School in particular.
The chairperson Board at Busoga high school, Eng Dr James Muwuluke asked Kadaga to help them to lobby for the Shs5 billion project promised by the ministry of education which will transform Busoga high school as a science centre of excellence.
He also asked the government of Uganda to put the new curriculum into practice by providing hands-on equipment to students.
