ELSA UGANDA together with COHERINET, an organization that promotes the rights of girls in Eastern Uganda has embarked on a country wide campaign dubbed ‘Girl Parliament’ that aims at creating confidence in girls.
This project brings girls together from different schools to talk about challenges and how to overcome them.
While addressing journalists on Wednesday in Kampala, Fatuma Nakalembe from COHERINET said their partnership with ELSA UGANDA is going to help them, move on each and every school to sensitize girls on how to keep away from being used by men.
Kushe Patel, the speaker of girl parliament at PMM girls Secondary School in Jinja ,says this project helped them so much in sensitizing their fellow girls even during COVID-19 lockdown.
This project has so far taken effect at Rehoboth Secondary School, PMM girls Secondary school, Wanyange girls Secondary School among others in Jinja, Buikwe and Iganga districts in Eastern Uganda.
