Police in Kabale district have arrested five suspects over alleged involvement in the lynching of three people in Kyanamira Sub County.
The suspects have been identified as Divera Twemere, Night Immaculate, Julius Gahungu, and one Javira and Levi all residents of Ruboroga cell Kigata parish, in Kyanamira Sub County.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate said that the five suspects are said to have been involved in the murder of three people including Zepharino Niwagaba, 26, Dickson Akampereza, 22, and Justus Akampurira, 20 all residents of Kigata parish in Kyanamira sub county, accusing them of stealing two pigs from the home of Karusya Anyesi last month, which were later found on the next day at the home of the complainant.
Maate added that the suspects were arrested on Sunday after other eight suspects already on remand in Ndorwa government prison revealed their fellows who involved the murder of the deceased persons. He also warned the residents against taking the law into their hands, saying that after arresting the suspected thieves, they should have handed them over to police.
