Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babirye Babalanda will not take part in today’s Cabinet swearing-in event after coming into contact with a COVID19 sick person.
Ms Babalanda was appointed Minister of the Presidency early this month and subsequentntly approved by Parliament last week, and was expected to take oath along with the rest of the Cabinet today.
However, according to a press release issued this morning, the Minister will miss taking oath with her counterparts at Kololo.

“This is to inform the General Public that the Minister in-charge of the
Presidency; Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda is under quarantine
having been in contact with a COVID-19 Patient,” reads the statement in part.
“Accordingly she will be in isolation for some period as advised by the
doctors,” reads the statement further.
The Minister has however assured the public that she is in a stable condition and would soon return to take her oath at a later date upon the expiry of the mandated quarantine period.
To her fellow Ministers participating in the swearing in event, Babalanda wished them well and promised to join them later.
She concluded by inviting the public to join the President’s efforts in the fight against the COVID19 pandemic which she said is “a real threat now.”
