Kabale district has registered a total of 10 Covid-19 death cases in just three days, according to Alfred Besigensi the District Health Officer.
Besigensi said that in a period of three days from Saturday 12th June 2021 to Tuesday, 10 Covid-19 death cases have so far been registered in the district.
He also said that as of now, Kabale district has 478 Covid-19 active cases. Among them 409 are receiving Home Based Care, 69 are in hospitals and 131 have been discharged since 27th May 2021 resurgence.
Besigensi also revealed to our reporter that since March 2020, a total of 5,541 Cumulative number of Laboratory tests have been done. Among them 1,172 tested positive, 1,039 are from Kabale district and 24 have since died.
Besigensi further asked the public to strongly emphasize and implementation of standard operating procedures in order to prevent the pandemic that is currently spreading like wildfire.
Dr. Gilbert Mateeka, a medical supretendant at Rugarama Hospital in Kabale Municipality urged the public to concentrate much in eating balanced diet foods enriched with green vegetables and adequate fruits rather than eating sweet or Irish potatoes and posho.
He callsed upon those that are already infected with the disease to eat more protein rich foods in order to build their body strong.
Dr. Mateeka said that everyone should imagine they have the scourge thus a call to ensure total adherence to Covid-19 SOPs.
