Former minister without portfolio Hajj Abdul Nadduli has told President Yoweri Museveni to stop pretending that Uganda is safe when citizens are being killed in broad daylight.
During an interview on CBS FM on Monday, Nadduli said Uganda cannot be safe when security is manned by young people who don’t know the core values of the 10 point program the brought National Resistance Army (NRA) into power.
Nadduli further said that General Museveni must recall all the bush warfighters and carry out evaluations on how they have handled the 10 points one by one to correct mistakes that may have lead to the recruitment of bad seeds within security forces.
“There is a saying that many cooks spoil the soup, this means that the original NRM we came with is almost nowhere due to many managers. By the time we went for war, Uganda had only 14 million people, currently, we are 44 million therefore the 30 million has come with spoilt minds which have deliberately disorganized our original 10-point programs,” the former Bush war hero said.
“ The new breed of leaders we have are not aware of our values. So he must first take out the newcomers and call out all the former fighters to revise our original agenda especially on the issue of security which is the second point we need to revise and find out where we have not done well. We should not say we are safe.”
Nadduli’s reaction follows the recent attempted assassination of Gen Edward Katumba Wamala.
After the shooting, President Museveni assured the country that the assailant will be dealt with. He also assured citizens that Uganda is safe despite a few insecurity cases.
