The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martins Okoth Ochola on behalf of the police, extended a donation of food items to the Muslim community at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) in Kampala.
It comprised 2000 Kgs of Rice and 1000 kgs of Sugar, which was received by the Secretary for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Muhammad Murshid Luwemba, on behalf of the Mufti of Uganda.
The IGP who was represented by Hajji AIGP Abbas Byakagaba, thanked UMSC for the tremendous work they do while serving the Muslim community. As partners he was grateful to the Muslim leadership for promoting rule of law and observing the health SOPs, during this period of the COVID 19 pandemic.
He pledged to strengthen further the working relationship between UMSC and the police.
While receiving the items, the Secretary for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Muhammad Murshid Luwemba, thanked the IGP for thinking about the Muslim community especially during this time of fasting and pledged for their continued support and cooperation with the Uganda Police Force.
