The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Women League Chairperson Lydia Wanyoto has been roasted by a section of social media users for texting on her phone during a live TV debate.
Wanyoto carried out the ‘bad manner’ of the day on Thursday during NBS TV’s morning breeze show.
The former head of the African Union Mission to Somalia was busy concentrating on her mobile phone when her host Simon Kaggwa Njala and fellow guest Dr Stella Nyanzi were discussing matters of national importance.
Wanyoto’s action did not go well with some of the social media users who wondered why she didn’t stay home if she was not interested in coming to the show.
“It’s bad etiquette and disrespecting as a viewer for a guest to spend better part of her time texting and reading messages off her phone. NRM’s Lydia does this a lot.Shows disinterest. If she can’t take the heat, perhaps deploy another panellists like OO @SimonKaggwaNjal @nbstv,” Jimmy Kiberu tweeted on Thursday.

NICHOLAS SENGOBA- That is what happens when you have this feeling that it is already done. You just go through the motions.
Macías Nguema- It’s very inappropriate and unprofessional! Lydia has to do better – or she should find another job…
Lokki_Xiv- She is checking for answers… Like a student who does not read for an exam
@antonyagaba- She does that often.
